Would someone please talk me out of taking Monday or Friday off and giving myself a long weekend? We just had a holiday two weeks ago, and I ought to be saving personal days for when I actually need get things done and not just for extended "bleeeeeh" moods. A single day off is not really going to fix my problems right now, no matter how nice it might feel to sleep in late.
This whatever-it-is eating my brain may have ruined my conscious creativity, but it's jumpstarted the subconscious; over the past month I've had several dozen vivid dreams which I've remembered perfectly on waking. This is so unusual and interesting for me--normally I'm lucky to remember one or two dreams a month--that the fact that they're all about unpleasant things (zombies! cannibals! being attacked by giant rats!) doesn't bother me as much as it should.
...I'm sorry, I cannot think of a single fannish or interesting thing to talk about. Reading Michael Swanwick's The Dragons of Babel but I am far too stupid to comment on it. Godchild 8 arrived on Monday and I haven't even opened it. At the moment rewatching the glorious silliness of Kyou Kara Maou is probably the only thing that's keeping me from pitching myself down five flights of stairs, and the third season in April looks too far away.
Instead, you should all go look go look at some terrifying yet fascinating insects (via ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) thorne_scratch). I particularly like the Africanized honey bee. Oh science, what have you wrought? |
